Tights and leggings may look similar, but they have some key differences: 

• Opacity: Leggings are typically opaque, meaning they're not see-through and can be worn on their own as pants. Tights, on the other hand, can be sheer or opaque. Sheerer tights (often called pantyhose) are designed to be worn under clothing for added warmth or style, while opaque tights can be worn on their own but are generally thinner and more delicate than leggings.

• Durability: Leggings are made from thicker, more durable fabrics like spandex or polyester. Tights can be made from similar materials, but they're often lighter and more prone to rips or snags.

• Seams and Gusset: Leggings typically have reinforced seams and a gusset (a diamond-shaped piece of fabric at the crotch) for comfort and movement. Tights may not have a gusset, and the seams might be flatter to minimize bulk under clothing.

• Function: Leggings are designed for comfort and activity. They're great for working out, lounging, or running errands. Tights can be worn for activity, but they're also a fashion statement. You might wear them with a dress or skirt to add warmth or style.

Absolutely! Nylon spandex tights can be dyed, but with a couple of things to consider:

• Dyeing Nylon: The nylon fibers in the tights will take the dye. You can use acid dyes or disperse dyes, which are compatible with nylon and spandex respectively. However, regular dyes like Rit will typically only color the nylon portion.

• Spandex Won't Absorb Dye: The spandex fibers likely won't absorb much dye, so they'll probably stay mostly white or their original color.

• Lighter Shade Possible: Since spandex won't dye, the overall color of the tights might be lighter than you expect, depending on how much spandex is in the fabric.
