Textile Dyeing Auxiliaries: Preparation, Process and Finishing

What textile dyeing auxiliaries do

Auxiliaries are supporting products used to help prepare textiles, control a dyeing or printing process, wash goods, or create a desired finish. Their functions vary; they are not interchangeable additives.

Preparation products

Cleaning, scouring or desizing products may remove substances that interfere with processing. Choose them according to the fiber, construction and actual contamination or finish.

Process-control products

A particular dye system may specify wetting, leveling, dispersing, thickening or other products. Their use depends on the chemistry and application method. Follow the supplier’s quantities and sequence instead of combining recipes.

Washing and finishing products

Afterwashing removes loose material as directed. A finishing product may alter feel, appearance or another property. A detergent is not automatically a fixative, and a finish does not automatically establish safety or regulatory performance.
